poem draft#2: untitled

I am closing my eyes and
walking the tight-rope

Suspended, there is nothing to fear
and nothing below me,
(that I can see)

This is an act of believing

When I open my eyes and look back
I will see everything with clarity
(as we always do)

All the danger
All the accomplishment
All the pain
All the joy

How far I've come
measured on a thread
And without seeing its frailty
I'll have tested it's strength
and taken that measure
for all it was worth.
